In 2020, members of Perth blues rock band 'The Desert Sonnes' locked themselves away in rehearsal to build a new sound and a new band. Through several personnel changes, a handful of gigs and a few pandemic lockdowns, Deep State have exploded onto the Perth music scene; delivering high octane, modern guitar rock. Matt Campbell (Bass) and Marcus Davidson (Drums) boasting the tightest rhythm section this side of The Nullarbor Plains. Frontman Mark McAndrew croons as he heats up local stages with blistering guitar solos. Surrounded by Jethro Fagan's dripping wet guitar tones and dreamy backing vocals. Their first single 'Black Lagoon' dropped in October 2021. A hybrid of stadium guitar rock and 80's new wave. Recorded in Fremantle at RADA Studios with Perth's premier producer Matt Gio. Deep State present a new breed of Australian rock. They continue to light up Western Australian stages and are sure to incinerate what's left of the previous generation's psych-rock royalty.
