Community Garden Club, Freedom Sanctuary and Creativity Hub Founded in 1988, The Grand Barn was initially established as a campground opening its doors to people and lifestyles that are labelled alternative. It’s founder, Peter Riden, aspired to humanistic ideals through his music and wanted to create a space where difference would be celebrated. To that end, TGB carried on for 27 years, until unfortunately a technicality forced it to shut down as a campground. Peter’s son Thaila and his wife Caitlin are continuing the dream by setting up a community garden, and plan to follow up with a workspace for growers, musicians, crafters, and artists of all types. TGB is centrally located between Ottawa, Cornwall and Montreal, just outside Vankleek Hill and surrounded by beautiful eastern Ontario countryside. We are right off highway 417 and nearby the Prescott-Russell bike trail for those who are eco-conscious. Enjoy the Freedom to Be!
