I was a mobile DJ in the early 70s and briefly in the 80s & 90s (1972-76 80-81 90-91), and my love for Soul, Funk, Northern Soul, Jazz Funk, and other dance music led me to build a huge record collection. That passion didn’t fade when I stopped DJ’ing—if anything, it grew stronger. My hunt for new music included not just buying records but also making a series of tapes from the radio, starting with soul shows and later adding house and dance music. These recordings ran from 1976 to 1999. This channel features some of the finest and rarest Soul, Funk, Jazz-Funk, Jazz, Acid Jazz, Neo Soul, Reggae, Blues, and R&B, along with many spin-off genres. The Soul, Funk, Jazz-Funk, House, and Dance tracks from the tapes I convert were the soundtrack of my life—and many others’—from the 70s through the 90s. I’m continuing to explore this fantastic music right up to the present day, including music from this century, and I’m excited to share what I learn on this channel.
