Ballet may be the most graceful of the arts, but to excel, you've got to be a beast. Among my favorite leviathans of dance are Rudolf Nureyev, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Svetlana Zakharova, Natalia Osipova, & Sylvie Guillem.
Ballet was my life. That is, until 2016 when I was diagnosed with Parkinson's, a cruel neurological disease. I didn't dance for much longer. My body stopped listening to me. Once supple muscles petrified. My internal gyroscope broke, leaving me unable to balance or turn. I was forced to tie my last pair of pointe shoe ribbons, and when Parkinson's stole my voice, I taught my final class.
Still, I was not ready to give up my beloved ballet. Unexpectedly, I found a way to continue to share my lifelong infatuation with both promoting the art and preserving the memories of its legends. Grateful for each and everyone of you who have helped make this possible, I treasure your encouragement & support.
Love to you all,
Pam
