In June 2010, Dave released Gone with the Dave Bass Quartet featuring Ernie Watts, Babatunde Lea, Gary Brown and guest vocalist, Mary Stallings. Gone showcases ten of Dave's original rock-solid compositions ranging from post-bebop, sultry ballads, gospel, straight-ahead, and bossa nova, to tango. In addition to Dave's originals, Gone features an exciting duet with Ernie and Dave on Astor Piazzolla's famous Libertango. Gone was produced by Babatunde Lea and Dave Bass. Gone hit #2 on the national jazz charts after only 3 weeks.
Dave continued to compose and write new arrangements. Dave recorded many of these new compositions and arrangements for his upcoming CD, "NYC Sessions," with jazz legend, Phil Woods, Karrin Allyson, Harvie S, Ignacio Berroa, Conrad Herwig, and others. Dave also recorded vocal versions of two of his compositions which had appeared as instrumentals on Gone: Lost Valentine and Since I Found You.
