Matheran Green Festival brings people from across the globe together to live, work, play and learn the techniques of green living and nature conservation at Matheran. This green initiative aims at bringing people together to create public art, conduct tree plantations, learn about waste management and spread awareness about the importance of nature. Matheran Green Festival is the first and only global green festival of India, now declared one of India’s best environmental events. It is listed among all the global festival forums, sees creme de la creme participants from across the globe and get quoted by media and art forums nationally and internationally. The first edition of Matheran Green Festival was scheduled during 21 - 25 May 2015 in the forest of Matheran Hill Station. The second edition of Matheran Green Festival is scheduled during 13 - 31 May 2016 at the same venue.
