My channel is a mixed bag of outdoor-related content related to hiking, backpacking, cycling, and camper van adventures. I only post videos when the muse hits because I enjoy writing more. I have published two books--Chasing the Smokies Moon: An audacious 948-mile hike fueled by love, loss, laughter and lunacy, and Historic Hikes in Western North Carolina. I also write occasionally on my blog, Hope and Feather Travels. I am a retired veterinarian, a dedicated and longstanding member of Haywood County's Search and Rescue Team, and a Gossamer Gear Ambassador. Fun fact: I co-hold the fastest known time for the Smokies-900 miler challenge with my friend (and triple crowner) Chris Ford. We hiked 948 total miles over 29 days and 10 hours--and now, nearly 6 years later, I can't believe I actually did that! I have lived in western North Carolina for nearly 30 years with my husband and (now grown) 3 kids, and my second home is the Great Outdoors. Happy Trails! Nancy, a.k.a. Seal Mom
