This Channel will be the focal point for all Glasgow Piping videos past, present and future. Piping Live!, organised by the Glasgow International Piping Festival, is the citys week-long global celebration of modern piping music, taking place across various venues and outdoor spaces. Set to attract almost 30,000 fans, the festival will showcase more than two dozen different nationalities and a diverse variety of piping styles, from traditional Piobaireachd to modern folk combos. (6-12th August 2012) The festival week will culminate with the incredible spectacle of more than 8,000 pipers from around the globe battling it out to be named Champions at The World Pipe Band Championships. Organised by Glasgow Life on behalf of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA), The Worlds is considered the single most important date in the calendar for pipe bands and is attended by an audience of more than 50,000 people.
