Seven Steps meets the criteria of a true prog rock gem: published on cassette only (4 thousand only, sold in a few months), in a pre-streaming era. It taps into the fertile creative land of a ridiculously talented generation of musicians from the small town of Baia Mare, in northwestern Romania. Complex patterns and top musicianship are on display in the title track, named after a popular dance in rural Transylvania. The Fight and Blind Tale are sharp-edged, expansive motions, while Love to Hate and Pretty Woman bring lyrical balance to the tight set. Sadly it was the only record published by the band.
