Mlethwa Majola, born in Msinga, KwaZulu-Natal, is a renowned Maskandi musician celebrated for his dynamic performances and cultural impact. Raised in an extended family, he attended Bhubhubhu Secondary School and worked in a Johannesburg factory before playing soccer for AmaZulu FC. In 2011, he shifted to music, forming Izintombi zikaMajola before pursuing a solo career.
His debut solo album, 'Nomi Yiphi', featured collaborations with Maskandi legends. Mlethwa’s commitment extends beyond music; he leads a drug and HIV awareness campaign encouraging youth to use their talents to fight poverty.
Winning Best Newcomer Artist and Best Video at the 2013 SATMA Awards, he solidified his place in traditional music. His electrifying stage presence, once earning him the soccer nickname “Varas” (Virus), captivates audiences.
