Countertenor Sam Higgins has been hailed for his "innate musicality." In June of 2018, he made his Boston Symphony Orchestra Pops debut at Symphony Hall with Bach's "Bereite dich, Zion." Sam has enjoyed accolades from the Metropolitan Opera Guild, the Schmidt Competition, the National Classical Singer Competition, YoungArts, and the Handel and Haydn Society. In February 2020, he performed on NPR's radio show "From the Top" with Handel's "Dove sei, amato bene." Sam sang the world premiere of Howard Frazin's "The Voice of Isaac" as Isaac in 2016, the same year that he performed a capella at the dedication of Trygve Lie Plaza at the United Nations in New York City. His love for Bernstein was prevalent at a young age. By far his most sung work, Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms" was the first piece he performed with orchestra at age eleven. Since then, he has sung the work nine times with seven different organizations.
