The IMI-group is a highly multidisciplinary team of enthusiastic scientists with backgrounds in biology, medicine, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Together, they focus on developing novel imaging agents and imaging technologies for use in surgical and radiological interventions, with a particular emphasis on image-guided surgery.
Thanks to the group’s diverse expertise, research activities span the full spectrum, from synthetic organic chemistry to preclinical and clinical studies. The ultimate goal is the rapid clinical translation of innovative technologies that improve patient care.
Students interested in internships are encouraged to contact the group member whose research focus best aligns with their own interests.
Key research topics of IMILab include:
“From molecule to man”
Image-guided surgery
Radio-guided surgery
Fluorescence-guided surgery
Surgical navigation
Molecular imaging
