The Bucus Brothers are an Alt-Country band from the Northeast. On the way to rehearsal for their Ukrainian polka/punk band, college roommates Colin Ransom and Nick Hladio discovered a discarded painting behind a trash can at Kipling station. On the back of the painting was just one word: Bucus. From that moment on, the two roommates knew what had to be done. They took a break from playing polka and started writing songs and playing country music. They hopped freight trains and U-haul vans all the way back to Pittsburgh, picking up drummer and highschool friend Jack Rossow along the way. When they finally arrived in Pittsburgh after many long months, the brothers decided they were thirsty for some Lagavulin. Having spent all their money on banjo strings and half a mango they resorted to recording an album in order to afford a bottle.
