Artificial intelligence and machine learning have the potential to solve some of the most intractable problems in biomedical science, turbocharge medical discovery, and revolutionise healthcare delivery.
The Cambridge Centre for AI in Medicine, funded by industry partners AstraZeneca and GSK, is making thise a reality with its world-leading research, close partnerships with the NHS and industry, and range of education initiatives. The Centre’s overarching aim is a breakthrough in the understanding and treatment of complex diseases, with the more immediate goals of transforming personalised healthcare delivery – including the effective administration of treatments over time – and pioneering, next-generation clinical trials. The Centre successfully bridges the gap between the complex fields of AI, bioscience, and medicine. It is a unique coalition of leading Cambridge scientists, clinicians, medical researchers, geneticists, computational biologists and biostatisticians.
