SULU AND EXCELSIOR is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist/rapper/singer Sulu, aka Steven E. Mallorca, who is also a rapper/trumpet player in the live alternative hip-hop group, P.I.C. Building on the genre-bending hip-hop of his work with P.I.C, Mallorca takes Sulu and Excelsior further into hyphenated musical territory, as he plays all the instruments and vocal performances with nods to his influences that span 50s crooning, 60s and 70s soul, and 80s and 90s hip-hop.
