In Plato’s Republic, Plato discourses on the nature and character of his idea city-state, which he calls “Kallipolis”. This name is a mixture in Ancient Greek of Kalos and Polis (Beauty and City) and is therefore “the beautiful city”. In one line of this work, Plato says that even if the ideal state or utopia never comes into being: “It makes no difference whether it exists anywhere or will ever exist. He will act according to the constitution of this city and of no other.” (Republic 592) Here at Kallipolis Radio, I seek to answer this question: “What would I do in utopia?” And my answer is that I would share my love for literature, history, philosophy, poetry, and life, with others, so that we can all enjoy it together. Here at Kallipolis Radio, I record audiobooks and post them for free on YouTube. On TikTok, I livestream my recording sessions, as well as making videos reviewing and/or talking about books I love.
