About 45 or so years ago during a rough patch I met some weirdos who needed someone to play drums. I had taken piano lessons, so why not? The lead singer taught me how to play 2 and 4 and I learned all her songs. Two weeks later I was on stage at the Mabuhay Gardens in San Francisco, and played there every Thursday dinner hour that summer. After that I found and was in and out of several kinds of bands. About twelve years later I bought a bass guitar and taught myself some songs. I sang a lot, having been in choir as an alto in grade school I learned harmony singing, and seem to have an innate talent for it. Never had much stage fright, never learned to perform, just got up there and did it, and did it. Most everybody I knew then is gone, sad story, but here we are. Finding old VHS tapes and making them visible before they melt away is what is happening here. It was all luck, all happenstance, a good ride, and I'm grateful.
