Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site is the home of Catharine van Rensselaer and Major General Philip Schuyler. Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy grew up here, and Eliza married Alexander Hamilton in the Best Parlor. Crailo State Historic Site is the museum of the Colonial Dutch in the Hudson River Valley. Crailo was built in the early 18th century by Hendrick van Rensselaer, grandson of the First Patroon. Hendrick died in 1740 and his eldest son, Johannes, inherited Crailo. Catherine van Rensselaer (later Catherine Schuyler) was born and grew up at Crailo. We hope to share some of the history of the sites with you through our videos.
