The Retro Rockets are a secret division of the USO who were sent to Skylab in 1976 to entertain the astronauts. However, on the return flight, a freak solar storm created a time dilation which threw the crew forward into the future of 2018. The crew realize this conundrum but are still only aware of history from their origin point. The revelations of how history has unfolded are a source of constant befuddlement for the band and amusement for audiences of all ages. Originally convened as a revival of American Theatre Companys wildly succesful 50's tribute band Eddie & the Ecclectics, this independent incarnation includes Eddie/Joyce Martel band veterans Tom Hanford (guitar), Steve Bagsby (steel guitar/fiddle/bass), James Downing (keyboards) and David Bagsby (bass/director) who also plays Soyuz cosmonaut defector Ivan Davidovic. New members include Neil Dirickson (drums), Peter De Les Dernier (keyboards) and vocalists Mike Buckendorf (Cmdr. Buck Zenith), Mick Casper (Lt. Cal Corona)
