In this video series, 9th grade students use slow motion video to analyze Newton's Laws of Motion in action. We discuss concepts of inertia, momentum, force, acceleration, mass, gravity, and more all through awesome slow-mo footage. Our videos are created using six GoPro Hero3 Black Edition cameras shooting in 720p at 120 frames per second and two Sony NX5U video cameras shooting 60 fps in 1080p. Footage is then slowed down either using Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe After Effects via the built-in "Timewarp" plugin. Any shots that include "bullet time" are shot using the six GoPros set up in a DIY rig using standard GoPro mounts and a curved piece of PVC pipe. All videos were made through the "Science Fact and Fiction" course at Compass Academy in Idaho Falls, Idaho. You can contact the school through our website: www.ifschools.org/ca
