'Leave No Veteran Behind'
Since the founding of our country, millions of men and women have left the safety and comfort of their homes to go to war to safeguard our democratic freedoms and way of life. Millions more have given their lives. However, some of those returning veterans, who survived the battlefield, find themselves facing an even graver battlefield. Our country’s veteran resources are overburdened and incapable of addressing veterans’ health and psychological needs.
Building Lives Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, was formed by a group of middle Tennessee business leaders, who recognized the severity of Nashville’s homeless veterans’ situation. Most regrettably, over twenty percent of Nashville’s homeless are honorably discharged veterans.
