Rongali Bihu is the festival that refers to the onset of the Assamese New Year, its the advent of seeding time. At this time of the year, Assam's valleys become vibrant, colourful and the air is filled with the sweet fragrance of exotic spring flowers & also the skies are filled with joyous songs of migratory birds. During Rongali Bihu, ladies are busy weaving Gamosas and Mekhela Chadors they also make different types of traditional snacks called ‘Pithas’.
