Session Press is a New York City-based publisher dedicated to presenting both contemporary and historical works by emerging and established Japanese and Chinese photographers. Founded by Miwa Susuda in 2012, Session Press serves as a cultural bridge between East and West, fostering a deeper appreciation of photography through thoughtfully curated photobooks.
As part of our mission to expand the conversation around photography, we are launching a YouTube channel in March 2025 in collaboration with photographers Anh Nguyen, James Maher, Kohey Kanno and John Sypal. This new initiative will feature artist interviews, peer discussions, and exhibition reviews, offering fresh perspectives on photobooks and photography exhibitions in NYC.
Beyond leading Session Press, Miwa is also a manager at Dashwood Books and an instructor at The Penumbra Foundation.
