In 1985, Rama - Dr. Frederick Lenz asked three of his students to perform original music at his public lectures in Boston. Over the next decade, the three musicians -- Joaquin Lievano, Steve Kaplan, and Andy West -- formed the band Zazen and worked closely with Rama to create brilliant music for meditation. Each composition is an advanced teaching, a direct experience of luminous states of awareness. Rama and Zazen produced over 30 albums, all of which are suitable for meditation. The majority of Rama's Zazen music is copyrighted by The Frederick P. Lenz Foundation for American Buddhism.
