Cello Blues has not been produced since the WC Handy orchestra stopped playing. When Ilene and Bas met in Amsterdam, they decided to bring it back, and formed the Freewheelers Cello Band spring 2007. Since then, they've toured around in Europe and the US, making thousands of fans happy with a velvet sound that can emit beauty and love, as well as power and fury. Ilene has a diploma from Belmont University, and played with scores of famous artists like Sammy Davis, jr. Frank Sinatra and others. Her acoustic and electric celli are accompanied by Dutch bassist Bas Vossen, student with Walter Latupeirissa, Jeroen van Niele and many other influences.
