Division XIX - melodic death metal from Kitttee, Finland. The band was formed in Kitee (or as we say: "Kitt-tee") in 1998 by vocalist/bassist Samppa Hirvonen and has been doing studio releases and live shows ever since. The band's music has vibes from the 1990s synth black metal wave and is influenced also by more recent Scandinavian metal. The lyrical themes are drawn in a history-inspired geekish way from World War I and II events in Finland. Epic stories of historic battles, mixing fiction and factual references of these events, usually with a deep personal and psychological experience point of view. While these subjects can sometimes be seen as political, the band strictly makes "pop" metal music for entertainment purposes. Division XIX’s new album « Bloodlines » is listenable in all the major streaming services.
