Moin! Welcome to the official channel of Fab City Hamburg! 3D printing, recycling, sustainable future, data instead of goods. Our motto: Locally produced, globally connected! After the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg became the first German city to join the global Fab Cities initiative in June 2019, which already includes 34 cities or regions worldwide, Fab City Hamburg was founded as a non-profit association in October 2020. The aim of the initiative is to align urban economies with networked digital manufacturing so that they can produce more and more of what they consume themselves. The vision is to establish a sustainable circular economy in the urban area by 2054 with the help of an open-source network. Fab City Hamburg e.V. aims to connect and support open workshops (Open Labs), Maker Spaces and sustainable projects in the city. Fab City Hamburg is funded by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
