I am a 52 year old female. I was in the hospital for nine weeks due to having MRSA in my lungs. I spent many of those weeks in a coma, and came away as a double below the knee amputee. I am working on a blog ( www.handicaplive.com ) and part of that is a diary I'm keeping as I go through physical therapy, learning to walk on prosthetic legs. My family and I hope that another family can see that a sudden catastrophic illness doesn't have to be the end of the world. My husband and children have been so supportive as have all of my family. My husband is a shining example of what a caregiver should be. He takes such good care of me, you can hear him cheering me on in many of the videos.
