Without any shadow of a doubt, the courage of the Xiaogang farmers in the 1970s changed our world forever. Having first visited China for study at Sichuan University (四川大学) in 1983/84 (the year Australia's Prime Minister Bob Hawke visited China), I have had a long term interest in China; teaching at a small college in Anhui Province (安徽省) 1999/2000 and conducting legal seminars in Beijing and Shanghai 2005.
