How do we raise readers? We provide great books for them to enjoy. We read with them often, beginning in infancy. We model reading for pleasure, and not just on devices, but reading actual books. We show interest in books they're enjoying. We give books as gifts. We encourage their reading, never use reading as a punishment. Basically, to raise readers we make reading and learning a fun part of every day.
I'm a mom, a foster nana, a quilter and baker and I'm passionate about giving children an incredible environment from which they can soar. :-)
