Peter Niven (b. 1970, Bombala, Mila) is a cultural innovator and master of many crafts. Raised in the Monaro with deep ties to Bombala, he worked the land as a farmer and rose to champion level as a speed shearer, excelling in one of Australia’s toughest trades. His career expanded into global kitchens as a chef of four cultures and seafood specialist, then into art and technology as a professional photographer with international exhibits, a graphic and web designer, IT hardware and software specialist, and music composer. His creative works fuse tradition and modernity, earning recognition across the world. A passionate researcher of family ancestry, he continues to trace and honor Aboriginal roots through the Condon, Kelly, and Lewis lines, tied to Yuin country and Wallaga Lake. Peter’s vision is to unite heritage, creativity, and technology into a lasting legacy that preserves identity and inspires future generations.
