Taylor Poenicke is an enthusiastic performer and teacher based in St. Louis, Missouri. She is currently pursuing a Master in Performance degree at the Royal College of Music in London where she studies flute with Gitte Marcusson and Adam Walker, piccolo with Stewart McIlwham, and baroque flute with Rachel Brown. Recently, she was awarded first prize of the Central Ohio Flute Association collegiate division competition and the Flute Society of Saint Louis Young Artist Competition. Taylor also performed with the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUe) orchestra as a winner of the SIUe Concerto Competition, and was a finalist for the St. Louis Youth Symphony Concerto Competition.   Taylor received a Bachelor of Music degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where she was the vice president of the Flute Club of SIUe and served as principal flutist of the SIUe Orchestra and Wind Symphony. Her teachers include Shelly Monier, and Jennifer Dehner.
