Unacceptable Color consists of fellow music lifers who found friendship in Lawrence,
KS and came together to showcase music scenes that traverse and live in ‘flyover’
territory. Music photographer Shawn Brackbill, engineer brothers (and the rhythm
section of The Get Up Kids) Rob and Ryan Pope, as well as punk shapeshifters
Caufield Schnug and Lira Mondal (Sweeping Promises, Melody Men Mastering) came
together with a shared vision for a video channel. Prioritizing thoughtful audio capture,
‘live’ cinematography, and site-specificity, UC curates performances spanning world
music, legacy indie, grassroots punk, and more.
