Hello my name is Yayra better known as simply Ya-ya. I’m proudly African, from Cameroon born and bred. I worked for Disney for the better half of my young adult life. I find pop culture fascinating & I'm a movie buff. This is reflected in my content. Hence African Culture Meets Pop Culture. ABOUT ME I came to the US back in 2001 at age 13. I have a BS in Biology and Chemistry from Lock Haven University of PA and an MS in Journalism from Roosevelt University in Chicago. I moved to Florida shortly after graduate school to work for Disney. Feeling stuck & desperate for change, I moved back home for a fresh start which happened to coincide with the pandemic. While in Florida I had started this channel and posted consistently every week. Haven recently quit the job I got post Disney (Whole Foods) I’m taking a stab at making a career out of YouTube.
