Azania Rizing is not just a film production company—it’s a way of seeing, thinking, and making new cinema. Rooted in decolonising the gaze, our work bridges independent film, African cinema, and Indigenous storytelling—shifting from being observed to seeing ourselves on our own terms. We activate Indigenous histories and African knowledge systems as living memory, not static record. We create social impact, art-house, and commercial films that hold complexity—stories that resist stereotype and refuse spectacle. Moving across documentary, narrative, and experimental forms, we make films that think and move. We believe cinema is a site of memory, a tool for collective healing, and a space to reimagine the future.
Azania Rizing exists to challenge inherited histories, expand the archive, and reject the idea of the “voiceless.”
