Kelly Khumalo, born in Johannesburg, is a South African singer, songwriter, and actress whose musical journey began in Sunday School and church choirs. Growing up, she was inspired by her grandmother, who raised 14 grandchildren and composed songs for their community. In 1997, Kelly moved back to Johannesburg, releasing her debut album, T.K.O. in 2005. She has since released ten studio albums, with hits like "Asine" and "Empini." Her music blends Afro-pop, gospel, and jazz, reflecting her refusal to be confined to a single genre. Kelly maintains a deliberate pace with her career, releasing albums when she feels inspired, guided by the mantra, "I run my own race."
