He was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he began his musical journey at age 12, playing drums in a school band. After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Percussion Performance at The University of Arizona in Tucson, he moved to LA to study at Los Angeles Music Academy to focus on drum set performance. Ty specializes in groove-based genres like Rock, Blues, Country, Funk, R&B, and Soul and has performed with a variety of Los Angeles bands and musicians. He has performed locally with rock band “Waiting 4 Wyatt,” classic rock cover band “Saloon No. 12,” and indie band “Artichoke.” He has also been active in the Las Vegas casino circuit with Top 40’s country band “Pam Lyn King & the Royal Rukus” and has played corporate and private events with oldies band “The Rock Tops.” Although his focus is in live performance, Ty also has extensive studio experience
