The Outdoor News Growing up friends, John Brown and Rex Moncrief shared a passion and love for the outdoors. Fishing together from the Moncrief Farm in Ruston, Lake D’arbonne, the Ouachita River, and even Caney Lake before it was completely filled, these 2 roamed all over north Louisiana. In the late 80’s and early 90’s they began to discuss the real possibility of starting a TV show. Working together at a local lumber store, it all began as a 5 minute live show on the KTVE Morning Show with Dave Norris as the host and eventually into a 30 minute show - The Outdoor News with John Brown and Rex Moncrief. Fast forward nearly 30 years. John Brown, always the creative genius, has had a successful career in the outdoors videography business. Rex Moncrief went into the bass boat building business and finally the tech business while still fishing and hunting as much as possible and taking along cameras when possible. The Outdoor News has evolved into a social media content provider!
