The Randy Bandits formed in 2002 by accident, fate and kismet. They have been making various kinds of music since then. The band is: Jim Knable: Lead Vocals and accoustic guitar Russ Kaplan: Keyboards and vocals Spiff Wiegand: Banjo, Accordion, guitars, harmonica, jaw harp, fiddle, trumpet, vocals, etc. Chris Q. Murphy: Electric Guitar, mandolin, percussion, vocals Jay Buchanan: Bass and vocals Sunny Knable: Drums and vocals The Randy Bandits regularly play at The Knitting Factory, Rockwood Music Hall, Banjo Jim's, The Living Room in NYC and various and sundry other venues outside of NYC. They released REDBEARD in 2006. They will release GOLDEN ARROW Feb. 10, 2009. HUGE RELEASE PARTY Friday the 13th of February at THE BELL HOUSE in BROOKLYN! They have been favorably compared to The Band and Moxy Fruvous. They are a roots rock band whose roots extend in all directions.
