KHEMEIA is the musical meeting of Italian vocalist Aurora Marchese and Icelandic guitarist Mikael Máni (Best Jazz Album – Icelandic Music Awards 2024). Born in Amsterdam during their studies, their music blends the intimacy of folk and the harmonic flavor of jazz, always led by storytelling and emotion. Khemeia (from the Greek “χημεία”, meaning to fuse together ) reflects this alchemy: two worlds merging into one sound. Inspired by artists like Bob Dylan and Norah Jones and the cinematic aspect of film music, they create alternative pop where they search for beauty in the ordinary and the extraordinary.
