The Centers of Excellence, are groups in Universities and Research Centers conducting the project "Electronic Services for the Development and Dissemination of Open Source 'actions diffusion and promotion through conferences and events in ten thematic areas. At the same time, annually conduct two rounds of seminars and a summer school code development (Summer Code Camp), in which will be trained at least fifty (50) developers. More specifically , the Excellence Centers relate to services related documentation , information dissemination and management of digital material . The role of these services is twofold : on the one hand, the diffusion of information services and management of digital material used to make them available to the wider community information and documentation relating to open source software , educational material and vertical applications to use.
