Natalie D-Napoleon is a singer-songwriter and poet from Fremantle, Australia, who has spent the last decade touring and performing in the United States. D-Napoleon has opened for Victoria Williams, Morphine, Mark Olson (The Jayhawks), and John Butler, including shows at SXSW. She formed a US-based trio with Kenny Edwards (Linda Ronstadt) and Dan Phillips (Peter Gabriel), and recorded her debut album, Leaving Me Dry, with David Piltch (k.d. lang) producing. D-Napoleon's latest album, You Wanted to Be the Shore But Instead You Were the Sea, was recorded with one mic in a hundred year-old chapel and features Dan Phillips along with James Connolly (Van Dyke Parks) and Doug Pettibone (Lucinda Williams). In You Wanted to Be the Shore But Instead You Were the Sea D-Napoleon continues her journey through Americana pushing the boundaries of women’s voices in traditional song.
