The mission of Duke University's Robert J. Margolis, MD, Center for Health Policy is to improve health and the value of health care through practical, innovative, and evidence-based policy solutions. The Center focuses on increasing opportunities to gain exposure to the field of health policy through collaborative curricular pathways and expanded mentored research opportunities for students interested in health policy. The aim of the Summer Research Symposium is to provide an opportunity for students in the Internship Program to interact with leaders from academia, industry partners, various funding agencies, and publishers at a single venue. Summer Research Symposium attendees are a highly diverse group, and spend ample time thinking about how to reach people who are not specialists in your field. The Symposium also provides students with the opportunity to share their research with the broader Duke community to receive their support, feedback, and mentorship.
