Chicago native Ray E. came from a city where, at the time crime was high and education was low. Dealing with the adversity of high crime and living in a single parent home, he faced many life changing situations that could have easily steered him in the wrong direction. At the age of 8, his Mother decided that growing up in Chicago and not having a father at home was not good for him or his siblings so she decided to move her and her 5 children to another city. That city was Indianapolis, IN where he then grew up and went to school. Granted there was crime, drugs and gangs, the statistics at the time were not nearly as high as his hometown of Chicago. There he became his own person and found his love for music & singing. Through his teenage years Ray E's dad came in and out of his life, but with Ray knowing and understanding that his Dad was off pursuing basketball dreams gave him reason to believe that maybe he was just too busy to visit.
