Celebrating the rich diversity and talent of the Del Ray community the Del Ray Music Festival takes places annually on the 3rd Saturday in June. Scheduled from 12pm to 9pm on the Mt. Vernon Recreation Center Fields at 2701 Commonwealth Avenue, the Del Ray Music Festival includes music, food, games, and a chance to ring in the summer with your friends and neighbors. The festival also includes a night of music the Friday before, an extra special treat!
Chaired by Kate Moran, longtime Del Ray resident and lead singer in her own band, the festival is organized with the support of an all-star group of Del Ray citizens. The festival features a variety of music which have included reggae, jazz, blues, swing, folk, country, and rock. The majority of the musicians who take the stage are residents of the neighborhood or DC, Maryland and Viriginia—something that makes this an extra special show for the performers and gives everyone a chance to hear some wonderful local talent.
