Distance From Zero - Mancunian Post Punks moulded in the late 1970's and 80's but creating their own hybrid version of the post punk genre. Based in North West England / UK on Morecambe Bay Cumbria. Drawing on influences from the punk of the 1970's through the post punk of the 80's into the trip hop and break beat of the late 80's and the 90's and the current European electro darkwave scene. Inspired by such bands as The Chameleons, Killing Joke, Magazine, Massive Attack, Buzzcocks, Ramones, Social distortion, The Cure, Massive Ego, Blutengel, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Johnny Marr, The Smiths, Clan of Xymox, John Cooper Clarke, The Damned, Spear of destiny, Theatre of Hate but also the politics of bands like Crass and Conflict. The duo also write and record acoustically, loving the stripped down challenge of the format.
