Align the Key is a two-person musical project featuring composers and producers Ethan Baker and Kyle Salzman. Both are self-taught guitarists with over a decade of experience in writing, recording, teaching, and playing music. Since its founding, Align the Key’s style has always been grounded in instrumental progressive metal, drifting occasionally to other genres with the idea that anything was possible. While Align the Key remains a creative outlet where these drifts can occur, Align the Key’s core style has started distilling itself, taking storytelling without lyrics to another level. Infusing documentary-style dialogue and cinematic sounds that enhance the story the music is trying to tell, Align the Key aims to put the listener in a place and time, whether in our world or one of their own making.
