Welcome to the self-indulgent world of DATAStream, where it's perpetually 1986.
DATAStream is the brainchild of Martyn Stonehouse, a composer and audio designer. The company was set up in 1986 in Derbyshire (UK) following research by Martyn into audio manipulation technology and portal transfer systems. They had some early success developing new audio formats (such as the 'CompuSTORE') that were far more advanced than the disc and tape based systems of the age although most were deemed too unstable for domestic use.
At some point DATAStream was taken over by the Stored Energies Technology division, which continues to manage their back catalogue, copyrights and master recordings.
