Semetery Records, and the entrepreneur behind it, emerged during the rise of extreme metal in Europe at the end of the 1980s. Active in concert promotion, label management, and distribution, Semetery contributed to the early visibility of death, thrash, and extreme metal in France.
Closely linked to the Gibus Club in Paris, Semetery was involved in early French shows by Sepultura, Sodom, Paradise Lost, Biohazard, Sacred Reich, Cradle of Filth, Entombed, Coroner, Pestilence, Die Krupps, Massacre, Kreator, and Napalm Death.
The label also supported the French scene, working with ADX, Treponem Pal, Agressor, Massacra, Loudblast, and No Return, and producing landmark compilations Master of Brutality and Brutal Generation.
Semetery collaborated with Roadrunner, Noise, Century Media, Nuclear Blast, Earache, City Slang and Sub Pop.
Stay tuned. 2026 will be the year of infernal, metal-driven releases.
