Author / Farmer / Illustrator / Photographer
I grew up outside of St. Louis. At the age of 10, after spending a summer on my grandparents farm I decided I would become a farmer. I've been living that dream since 1988. I raise Irish Dexter cattle, Muscovy ducks, and have an assortment of other critters. I love sharing my everyday life in story and photos.
In 2017 I started work on my Heritage Breed Photo Project. I am photographing rare breeds of livestock and poultry in danger of extinction. I am raising awareness of endangered farm animals, it's not just exotic animals in need of help. A book is forthcoming.
I am also publishing an "Around the Farm" nonfiction, book series under the name of "Hybrid Hollow Production". (I am a huge fan of mules, which are a hybrid...thus the name Hybrid Hollow Production) My first book, "Dandelion my house chicken", is available now. I am currently working on the my second book, "Lucy my rescue dog". I write to engage readers of all ages.
